But because you're so focused on fixing the iPad, you don't notice that the thief, after stealing everything you own and planting bombs in the house, is me. I walk out, taking everything with me, and I remotely detonate the bombs, killing you but not harming the iPad - in fact, it gets fixed in the explosion.
